Hi, I’m Madeline Eng.
I’m just a girl with some paint, creativity, and a desire to bring bright colors to your walls.
The Basics
I am an east coast-raised, self-taught artist currently based in Seattle. My work dynamically shifts between and combines the subjects that I love most: florals, textures/patterns, and portraiture.
Background
My love for painting began in my youth but I did not pursue it with intentionality until after starting my career in environmental science, when I sought a creative outlet to contrast with the analytical nature of my day job. I started out in 2016 making custom watercolor, hand-lettered, and pointed pen calligraphy cards for friends' birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries. As my style and practice have developed, I have moved into creating larger, fine art pieces.
Connection and Stories
For me, creating art is about connecting with others and building relationships. As a collector myself, I seek out the stories that come with collecting works from other artists. I hope that others can feel similarly about what I create--especially with commissions, which I use as an opportunity to help others weave their own curated stories on their walls.
